The manager is a complete jerk. I don't know what happened this time, my husband and I have rented from this place many times in the last few months. But this time they tried the trick of forcing us to pay for the insurance. I told them that I've never had to pay for that before, BUT because they called my insurance company they tried to make a "legit" reason for requiring it, and I bought the play, begrudgingly, until I called corporate later. I didn't speak to the manager until after we were already on the road and I had called corporate who assured me I did NOT have to buy the extra insurance. However, he didn't want to hear anything I said. He started speaking over me to try and convince me that I needed to have this insurance because he needed to protect his business. (This is all bs, 1) because you don't have to "prove" ANYTHING to decline coverage by enterprise standards. 2) My credit card provides premium gap insurance, but he said "I don't deal with credit cards for claims". Yea, I bet he does if it is the only way for him to settle his claim.) So yea, my voice escalated to try and continue my point and then he said "I'm not going to be screamed at" to which I replied "I'm not going to be spoken over, I didn't HAVE to have this insurance and I'm not going to pay for it." OMG it was worse than the bs you hear from the car salesman about how they have to put food on the table for their family (yes a car salesman has said that to me, true story). The manager said that I needed to turn around and return the car to have this resolved. and I told him no because we were already 1/2 way to our destination (plus we weren't going to make it back before they closed either). I told him he could have avoided this if he just trained his staff better to offer the decline in coverage at the desk when I complained the first time. He replied "My staff is trained fine." Anyway, DO NOT USE THIS LOCATION. If this is how the manager acts then they are a bunch of bullies that don't deserve your business.
Update: After making a fuss and calling corporate and complaining about this location (corporate filed a report with the regional manager that oversees his location) the manager removed the extra fees. However, he stills swears by the necessity for the insurance. I escalate my previous comment about him being a jerk to "first rate a-hole", as he is STILL lying through his teeth to try to convince me that he is not wrong!
To enterprise, I have nothing more to add - if you can't discern what happened in this review, then you can't be helped - you have the location - you know the manager of the location - you have my calls. You either already filed the report, or you didn't. If you didn't, I don't expect you to do anything more to remedy this. My side has been remedied, I didn't have to pay the fees I didn't want to pay and I no longer give my business to this local shop's a-hole manager!
I've rented several cars from this location. The vehicles are always ready on time. Check in and check out is always a breeze. I needed a vehicle very early last week and they were happy to accommodate me. They always have great customer service!! I am very happy with the enterprise experience.
Update: I still refuse to give service to this location, I haven't had any problems with any of the other Enterprise locations. I find the reply to this review to be abhorrent. If they didn't "address the issue" the six times I called corporate including them telling me that they already filed a report with the regional manager, what more is going to be done?
The employees are friendly and courteous, but the van we rented was nasty. We ended up cleaning it before we went on our trip. The keys were connected with a cable, not able to separate them. Change oil light was on, but the employee told me it was just done. If figured how to reset it.
Manager was nice but we reserved a car and showed up to get the car and then told they were trying to locate a vehicle. When we made the reservation we asked if the vehicle was on site and we're told yes but the manager then said that's only a reservation system and not the actual location. Poor communication and left us scrambling to try to find another vehicle last minute.
